Description: Pecos Valley Aquifer volume of water with greater than 10,000 milligrams per liter total dissolved solidsUnits: Feet.This dataset was created using the tool Raster Calculator from the grid Pecos Valley Aquifer saturated thickness (pv_sat_thk) using the extent of the greater than 10,000 milligrams per liter total dissolved solids grid derived from pv_tdsr_idw. The volume of water was determined from this grid using the cut and fill tool, the resulting table was exported, and volumes determined using the cell value in feet with the grid cell size of 250 feet. This dataset was prepared to meet a specific purpose as described in the following report, which is available on the TWDB website:Meyer, J.E., Wise, M.R., and Kalaswad, S., 2011, Pecos Valley Aquifer, West Texas: Structure and Brackish Groundwater: Texas Water Development Board, report in preparation.The data used to prepare this dataset is also available in the Brackish Resources Aquifer Characterization System (BRACS) MS Access Database, data dictionary, and raw data files (digital geophysical well logs and water well information).
