Description: This dataset includes U.S. and Mexico states surrounding Texas. The Gulf of Mexico is included but it is clipped to only include the portion adjacent to Texas. This GIS layer is mostly used for internal purposes only.The state polygons were downloaded from U.S. Census Bureau Tiger dataset. The Mexico states were obtained from ESRI basemap datasets. The portion of the polygons that share a boundary with Texas were aligned with the Groundwater Modeling Counties dataset so there are no slivers or gaps between the administrative boundary datasets and the surrounding states.
