The Official Regional Water Planning Areas feature class as defined by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) are used for state mandated requirements within programs of the TWDB.
Each polygon is categorized as either 0 for “LAND” or 1 for “BAY” using the “BAYS” column in the attribute table.
RWPAs were edited on July 13. 2019 to correctly align with an update to TWDB's County boundaries layer (current as of 07/03/2019). This version represents RWPAs from the TWDB_RWPAs_07032019 file edited to reflect the detailed coastline along the Gulf Coast in the TWDB_Counties_Detailed_07032019 file.
Edits made in the TWDB_RWPAs_08072023 file include: fixing small overlaps and gaps between regions, removing large overlap between Region L and Region P, aligning boundaries that coincide with counties to match Counties dataset, adding topology rules, combining the detailed and non-detailed RWPA datasets into one dataset, and adding a new "Bay" column with 2 polygon types: 1 for "Bay" and 0 for "Land" (tmc) |
